“Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream,
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.”

immer wieder vorbereiten und muss mich in meinem ganzen Leben so verhalten,
dass kein einziger Augenblick nicht der Vorbereitung angehört.”

Zen is the wide, all-encompassing gate of compassion.”

Die Türe

Wenn die Nacht
keine Türe hätte
woher
käme der Tag

Und zuletzt
wohin ginge er
wenn die Nacht
keine Türe hätte?

“When I walk with a camera I walk from shot to shot, reading the light on a calibrated meter.
When I walk without a camera, my own shutter opens, and the moment’s light prints
on my own silver gut.”

Annie Dillard in Pilgrim at Tinker Creek
_______________

In the industrial settings, I am particularly attracted by scenes where
there is a tangible tension between the formal technical elements
and the apparent fortuity of the non-industrial.
I have often been moved by the atmosphere of decay,
carelessly dumped objects and tools,
and the still lives of contrasting elements that are left behind.
There is the almost magical thrill of an extra layer of reality
and that time has come to a halt.

When isolating these scenes by taking a picture
I try to let the viewer participate in all the sensations I feel.
